False Alarm!
On Tuesday about 3 pm, I got a call from Lori, our birth mother. She had a check up at Barnes and during the checkup they discovered she was dilated and having contractions. Well, they admitted her to the hospital and sent her to Labor and Delivery. I left work about 3:30, called Cal in a panic to pack things, and then rushed down to the hospital. They ran several tests and determined she would be having a c-section that night. Cal finally made it down there and we called our family to let them know there would be a little one.
Well, we waited….and waited…and waited. And then there was a shift change of the doctor and nursing staff – so all new people. Finally about 10 pm that night we were told that they would not do the c-section, they would hold Lori over night to monitor and that they’d probably send her home in the morning.
Cal and I stayed in a hotel nearby and returned to the hopsital in the morning. We found out she was indeed going home. So no baby yet! She is still planning on going back to the hospital Friday morning for an amnio to check the lung development – and then possibly have the c-section. So, needless to say, the last few days have been a whirlwind. We’re exhausted and trying to just use the next 2 days to wrap things up at work and home (although it’s pretty hard to concentrate)! ;-)
Hopefully this weekend Kylie will make her way into this world!
